Hi guys,
I know this is a Dutch forum, but since I've recently moved to Amsterdam I've preferred to ask here suggestions on where to buy tools and parts for my 990. So, my apologies for the english.
Can anyone recommend me a good / handy torque wrench to buy? I need to tighten the chain.
Thanks in advance guys and I hope to see you around Amsterdam.

Hi Allesandro,
Verpalen www.verpalen.nl is a good dealer near amsterdam.
My favorite is andre, www.andremotors.nl but verpalen is closer for jou i think.
just for chain adjust you need a torque wrench???
safe your money and do this by handforce. _________________ Groet Daan (LC8-Junkie).

well, it's been already a while that I wanted to buy. I think it's a must if you want to do some maintenance by yourself.
The best would be something handy to carry with me in long journey.
Thanks for now, good to know a KTM service point anyway. |

A torque wrench indeed comes in handy when you start working on the bike at home. But I would never consider taking one with me on a trip. Way too heavy. It's not a show stopper unless you're in serious trouble with the bike and even then you would probably just go to the nearest repair shop.
That said, I am more than happy with both my BETA wrenches: 6-60 Nm and 20-200 Nm for home wrenching. Not cheap but high quality.

I have 2 wrenches:
-Force 40-210 Nm
-Stahlwille 6-50 Nm
Stahlwille is considerably better quality, but doesn't come cheap. Other marques may do the job as well.
If you look on the internet, you will find online shops where you can but tools from. _________________ Only fools follow rules |

I have a Halfords Professional 3/8 for 10-60nm (bought in the UK, great value & quality) and a Motozoom 1/4 one for 6-25.
I'll eventually need one to go higher than 60, that will probably be one from Lazer or USAG, although USAG is very expensive €160+ depending on the wrench...
I agree with Demito, it's no use bringing Torque wrenches with you, I can't imagine all the vibrations during transport will be good for the calibration...
Best,

Just got a puncture on the rear tyre last Saturday. I'll take the chance to buy it soon and learn how to change the tube.
Thanks all |
