This newest update comes by way of World Car Fans and involves comments made by KTM's man at the top, Stefan Pierer. During an interview in Standard, Pierer discussed possible production locations in Mattighofen, where the company is headquartered, or in Graz, where their favored supplier, Magna Steyr is located.

The Italian design firm, Dallara, has been contracted to manufacture a prototype and begin testing. Volkswagen will be providing the power in the form of a four-cylinder, 250 HP gas engine, and when owners are due for service, their local V-Dub dealership will take care of business.

Production is expected sometime in 2007; with KTM planning to produce 1,000 units per year and pricing set around 35k Euros. The Geneva Motor Show will likely serve as the venue for the two-seater's debut and if all goes according to plan, we'll be on hand to molest it with our eyes and lenses.
