off road paths here in Holland

Hi guys,
just wondering where I can find some off roads paths here in Holland. I am in Amsterdam and I am tired to drive around the ring at 80km/h.
Any suggestions?

But seriously, amsterdam is maybe not the best part of Holland for offroad. Better regions are Brabant (the whole area under the line Breda/Den Bosch/Venlo, roughly). But that means that you have to take first an hour and a half of highway. Or you can go East, but that is even further away (in general, best places are all along the south border and east border).

A lot of roads are closed for traffic, so be carefull if you want to keep it legal (changes of getting caught and fines are low, but better don't spoil it for others).

Hello Sandrocchio,

Snowball is right, Amsterdam is not the best place for offroad.. Nearby you can practice in 'De Kuil' close to Ijmuiden, but if you ride a heavy Adventure then it is not that great. What are you riding?

Best is to check out this forum and the Allroadmaniacs site for tours. There are some nice opportunities in Belgium in the next few weeks.

Thanks for all tips, 1 hour travel is a reasonable time to have some nice riding and I don't want to wait for the winter to come again (that's for have fun in the garage). I'll check out the info you giving me.
By the way, driving near by the fields or woods is illegal in the Netherlands?

I am driving a black 990, not much in Amsterdam (it doesn't make sense). I haven't see so many here in the Netherlands. That could be OK, as it means is not on the top list for thefts.

you'l better watch out, i bought my 950 from a cop in amsterdam.
he lost two 950's by thieves.

Driving offroad through the woods or near the fields surely is legal here in Holland, unless it is written that it is forbidden on traffic signs. Also it is even allowed to drive through silence-areas, if you make sure that you take it easy. In that case be aware that many pedestrians and bicyclists do not know this, so always stay calm.

Anyway, before you start going offroad anywhere, try to get information on where you may and may not ride, or join some organised offroad-rides.
